United Assassins Deliver a Chilling Championship Message.
Manchester United's silent assassins delivered some chilling championship fighting talk against sorry Sunderland.
For the second match running manager Alex Ferguson chose not to attend the after-match press conference and sent the message that " the result speaks for itself."
Fergie's Verdict
"It was a good result for us. We tried a new system which I felt was right against Sunderland but we were a bit nervous in the early part of the game because of it. Unfortunately with Gary Pallister being injured after just five minutes that didn't help and we had to make sure they didn't get at him.
We felt as though they weren't going to give us any great threat but they've got great enthusiasm and they were positive and aggressive in their play. They were probably the better side for the first part of the first half.
We started to get to grips with it just before the opening goal and were edging towards our form. The penetration of Giggs was important.
The opening goal changed the game. The second half was an absolutely superb performance. We played with confidence in that second period and it was very nice to see. Solskjaer has done fantastic for us and took both his goals very well. With games coming thick and fast it is important to keep that freshness and that's why I took him off.
